Jamara “Jay” Shipp is the managing attorney for The Law Office of J. Edward Shipp, LLC. His practice specializes in Personal Injury, Felony Criminal Defense & DUI Defense, Business Litigation & Real Estate.

Originally from Ashburn, Georgia, a small town 35 minutes east of Albany, Georgia, he is a 2010 graduate of Georgia State University, where he majored in Public Policy with a concentration in Public Management and Governance. After a stint as an entrepreneur in the automotive field, he graduated from the Mercer University School of Law in 2019 as a member of the Order of Barristers, a student member of the Bootle Inn of Court, and a National Trial Council Mock Trial Coach.

Having worked as a law clerk in a plaintiff’s firm in Macon, Georgia, as a Third-Year Prosecutor in the Macon Judicial Circuit, and having been a staff attorney for the Superior Court of Hall County, his experience is definitely varied. However, this has allowed him to look at all avenues of an issue, to find the best resolution for his clients. He founded The Law Office of J. Edward Shipp, LLC in January of 2020 and has been on the go since, practicing throughout the state of Georgia. He looks to help all who call on him. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the Gwinnett County Bar, the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association.

When he’s not practicing law, you can find Jay somewhere in the outdoors, whether it be riding his motorcycle, playing with his pup, hiking with his family, or somewhere volunteering his time.
